CELEBRATE DRAMA IN EDUCATION

Dramatic creativity is the currency of the 21st century.

Celebrating excellence in drama education, sharing classwork, showcasing our talented students, drama advocacy and recognising the Arts as a valuable commodity in the 21st century is the aim of the SCSDF Inc. The planning committee have shaped the Drama Festival, Boot Camp and Teacher PDs, to best align with current curriculum trends aimed at empowering and engaging both students and teachers, to explore and share their dramatic talents, innovative pedagogy and creativity.

The Sunshine Coast Schools’ Drama Festival was founded in 2015.  Our focus is all about celebrating the excellent teaching and learning taking place in the drama classrooms in the Sunshine Coast region. Arts in education has a crucial impact on our lives, it is a catalyst for learning, enjoyment, self discovery, and achievement.

S.C.S.D.F. (a non-for-profit association) consists of passionate drama educators who give their time to support young talented and emerging artists in the creative industries on the Sunshine Coast. Our focus is on CELEBRATION and ADVOCATING for Drama in education, supporting authentic Arts career pathways and possibilities.

The Festival has since expanded to meet the growing needs of drama students and educators on the Sunshine Coast.  The committee now also offer Acting Master Classes for Year 11 & 12 drama students, a full day Drama Boot Camp for Year 7, 8, 9 & 10 drama students (workshops facilitated by professional actors/artists) and  Professional Development workshops for local drama educators to share their pedagogy, resources and stories of success.
